Why did an order auto-reject?

Updated 11 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

Every new order rings on the orders board and needs an answer. If nobody answers, Nasto rejects it for you so the customer isn't left waiting on a silent shop.

Accept or reject

A new order arrives with a sound alert on the board and a WhatsApp to the owner.

  • Accept and set a preparation time, for example 20 minutes. The customer gets a message that the order is accepted and when it will be ready.
  • Reject with a reason, for example "Out of stock" or "Kitchen closing". The customer gets a message with the reason.

After that, move the order along: preparing, ready, assigned to a driver, then out for delivery and delivered.

The 10-minute rule

If an order is not accepted within 10 minutes, it is rejected automatically. At 5 minutes the owner gets a WhatsApp reminder.

Common reasons an order auto-rejects:

  • The board was closed, or the tablet was asleep or muted.
  • Nobody was logged in at that outlet.
  • Orders kept coming during a rush and one was missed.
Tip: keep the board open on a tablet or laptop at the counter with sound on, and keep the screen awake. Logging in on a second device is fine; whoever taps first handles the order.

Busy or closing early

If you can't take orders for a while, use Pause orders on the board instead of letting them auto-reject. The store tells customers you're not taking orders right now.

Cancelling later

You can cancel an order up to ready. Once a driver has picked it up, it can only be marked delivered, or cancelled from the order with a reason.
